There are gains in security, maintainability, and above all performance. This book tells you how to write this kind of component. Despite its title, it is not altogether introductory, and covers Microsoft Transaction Server (COM+ in Windows 2000), Microsoft Message Queue, COM threading models, and ADO, the COM database API. A great starting point for learning how to build ASP components.
