Since the Office web apps are built on SharePoint WebDav should work; apparently it even works with SkyDrive if you can figure out the URL, see:

So that you can open a document from a remote server using the web version of, for example, Microsoft Word ? Just like you can with the desktop versions of Microsoft Office and, also, OpenOffice.</description>
