I'm not sure I'd run my mission critical apps on this platform. VMWare is finally coming around on that (tho we were hesitant for a while) but we're finally embracing it after seeing realworld test results. Since using VirtualBox I have not looked back. I like VMWare as well, but that costs money. I had sworn off VPC 2007 because it was such a dog, performance wise, and was pleasantly surprised by the improvements in SP1. I will definitely try VirtualBox based on this write-up. When I switched my desktop PC from Windows to Linux, I purchased VMware Workstation (for Linux) for the one or two Windows apps I still needed to run. I didn't use it for long though. I discovered that VirtualBox felt much snappier in use, though I've not done any benchmarks. The only thing I miss from VMware is its superior handling of multiple snapshots for any VM image.
