{"id":405,"date":"2007-11-19T23:20:27","date_gmt":"2007-11-19T22:20:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.itwriting.com\/blog\/?p=405"},"modified":"2007-11-19T23:20:27","modified_gmt":"2007-11-19T22:20:27","slug":"rest-vs-ws","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.itwriting.com\/blog\/405-rest-vs-ws.html","title":{"rendered":"REST vs WS*"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The REST vs WS* wars get ever more interesting, with Dare Obasanjo from the Windows Live team <a href=\"http:\/\/www.25hoursaday.com\/weblog\/2007\/11\/15\/WSIsToRESTAsTheoryIsToPractice.aspx\">announcing (or confirming) his conversion<\/a>&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.25hoursaday.com\/weblog\/default.aspx#a74ae9b66-6a9e-45ba-a0ef-1384bd8cfe58\">to RESTful ways<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/astoria.mslivelabs.com\/\">Project Astoria<\/a> demonstrating that Microsoft is now building REST services into ASP.NET and ADO.NET (see <a href=\"http:\/\/www.itwriting.com\/blog\/?p=393\">here<\/a> for further comment).<\/p>\n<p>Microsoft is still committed to WS*, but equally seems to recognize that much of the world wants to do REST.
