Jeff Barr says this is <a href=\"http:\/\/aws.typepad.com\/aws\/2008\/10\/coming-soon-ama.html\">scheduled for public release by the end of 2008<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The 32 and 64 bit versions of Windows Server will be available and will be able to use all existing EC2 features such as <a href=\"http:\/\/developer.amazonwebservices.com\/connect\/entry.jspa?externalID=1346\">Elastic IP Addresses<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/developer.amazonwebservices.com\/connect\/entry.jspa?externalID=1347\">Availability Zones<\/a>, and the <a href=\"http:\/\/developer.amazonwebservices.com\/connect\/entry.jspa?externalID=1667\">Elastic Block Store<\/a>. You&#8217;ll be able to call any of the other <a href=\"http:\/\/aws.amazon.com\/ec2\">Amazon Web Services<\/a> from your application. You will, for example, be able to use the Amazon <a href=\"http:\/\/aws.amazon.com\/sqs\">Simple Queue Service<\/a> to glue cross-platform applications together.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>This opens up EC2 to a substantial new group of potential customers.
