ASP.NET Web App Projects gets real-world approval

Posted 1553 days ago on April 28, 2006

Noted ASP.NET developer and blogger Rick Strahl is sold on the new-old app model for ASP.NET:

For real work - I'm over the 2.0 standard projects. Trying to work through all those funky inconsistencies with page and control referencing - forget it. It's a royal waste of time.

We have to give Microsoft a hard stare at this point. Why did it not discover the problems with the new application project type for ASP.NET 2.0 before release, and spare Strahl and others all this pain? After all, the "new" Web Application Project is pretty much the old 1.1 app model.

Look here if you want to update Visual Studio 2005 to support Web Application Projects.
